Jobs in Finland at the dairy farm

Kantoniemi farm is a dairy farm operating in Ähtäri, South Ostrobothnia, with about 350 cows and 260 head of young cattle in up-to-date barns. On our Facebook account Kantoniemen tila Oy, you can learn more about our farm’s operations.

Our barn crew is now looking for a complement as one of our cattle caretakers moves on to new challenges.

The work includes milking at a milking station, where milking takes place three times a day at a 2 x 10 seat parallel milking station (side by side-parlour). In addition, the tasks include moving animals, cleaning work, caring for calves and other young cattle, as well as drying and cleaning work with a small loader (Bobcat).

With us, you can do meaningful work in a good team – our international and cheerful barn team consists of seven employees. The working days are one-part, two-shift work according to the shift plan, and the shifts take place between 5.00 am to 24.00 pm.

We especially value teamwork skills and initiative. A reasonable command of English language is essential to perform at work. Previous experience in the field is desirable, but not necessary, as we will of course familiarize you with the work on the farm according to our onboarding plan.

The salary is based on the Finnish Collective Agreement of Rural Industries (job requirement group 3). The trial period is 6 months. If necessary, you have the opportunity to live on the farm and a shared car. We are located in the middle of lakes and in summer there is also a motorboat in shared use, for example fishing. In addition, we offer our employees a Smartum benefit.

The work will begin as agreed and preferably by mid-February. The position will be filled as soon as a suitable person is found. If you are interested, please send your application via the link below as soon as possible and no later than 30th of January 2024.
